Cormorants

Reed Cormorant
Fairly common resident. A small, long-tailed, crested cormorant, black to dark brown with paler, mottled underparts in the female. Found on most deep waters of northern, eastern and south-eastern Botswana.

Whitebreasted Cormorant
The Whitebreasted Cormorant is also a failry common resident to Botswana. This cormorant species is larger than the Reed Cormorant. It is seen regularly on major dams, often resting in dead trees or on posts.
